Elizabeth of Hungary or Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia was born in 1207 and was a princess of the Kingdom of Hungary. Some years later after her death she was recognized as a Saint by the Catholic Church and Pope Gregory IX for her endless dedication and service to the sick and poor. She is considered the patron saint of nurses, hospitals, the homeless, charities, etc. P.J. Kenedy, the publishing house of this work was founded in 1866 and was acquired by the Macmillan Company that ended the use of its name around 1982. Note: Between pages 254 and 255, one of the pamphlets with a depiction of Jesus Christ was stored there for decades and left an aged stain in its shape (As shown in the photos provided). Beyond this, the cover and the inside pages of the book are in great condition.
