Inspired by the images from the Tutankhamun era. Crafted from wood, glass and metal with 24k gold plating. The pedestals are hand-painted enamel in black and ivory. The frame of the chessboard is made of hardwood held up by four intricately detailed holy guards of the tomb and is covered by pyramid glass cover. On all sides, original Egyptian hieroglyphs are written which translate to 'Tutankhamun's chess set'. Measures 12 1/2" (31 cm) X 16'' (41 cm) X 16" (41 cm). Circa 1970's - 1980's. Great Condition.
