Description: Per Wikipedia, The Hollies' Greatest Hits is a compilation of singles by the Hollies, released on Epic Records in April 1973. It includes hit singles by the group on both the Epic and Imperial labels over a time span of 1965 to 1971. It spent seven weeks on the Billboard 200 charts, peaking at number 156. The group's work was initially released on Imperial Records in the United States, then a subsidiary of Liberty Records, until the latter merged with United Artists Records and the Imperial imprint was discontinued. In 1967, the Hollies signed with Epic in the U.S., and this compilation appeared six years after the group's previous, featuring hits for Epic as well as several from the Imperial period. The album consists of every Top 40 hit enjoyed by the band in the United States with the exception of the number 40 hit "Jennifer Eccles" from 1968. Nine of the tracks feature founding member Graham Nash during his tenure in the band through 1968. "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother," "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress," and "Long Dark Road" were all released on Epic after his departure. The album up for bid is a 1973 reissue release on the Epic Record label and was manufactured at Columbia Records Pittman pressing facility. It consist of 12 tracks with a run time of 37+ minutes. The cover is in VG+ condition with very little wear along the edges and corners, There is a label along the bottom of the front cover indicating the recording was issued for promotional radio station service. There is slight evidence of disc wear on the front cover. The back cover is clean (see photos). The paper inner sleeve is original, intact and in VG condition and is promotional regarding other Epic releases. The recording has been cleaned, tested and recorded using Audacity. All tracks are free from skips and there is little to no background noise, even in the quiet spaces between tracks. The records surfaces show no sign of significant wear and no evidence of scratches or scuffs. The sound is strong and clear. The record surfaces retain their gloss and all labels are clean and intact. This recording is in VG+/EX condition using the Goldmine standard for grading recordings.
