Description: THE HISTORY of THE LIFE of MARCUS TULLIUS CICERO *IN TWO VOLUMES* by Conyers Middleton Printed for the Author, London - 1741 These hardcover books measure 9 1/2" X 12" - 564 & 591 pages respectively, each with some B&W engravings. The books are fully leather bound, with six raised bands on the spines. The boards have speckled patterns, which are now speckled worn and chipped (see images). The spines still have gold inlay, with the boards exhibiting what little of the gold along the edges. The tops of the spines on both books are worn down, with the bases not so much. The corners are bumped and worn. Volume I has one label still on the spine, with the other laid-in. The front hinge has a roughly 7" to 8" split (see image), thus the hinge is a little weak. There is a 1 1/2" split in the reverse, which is still strong. An ownership bookplate appears on the first end paper, along with some notes in pencil. Volume II has one label laid-in, and none on the spine. A small ownership plate appears on the first end paper. Both books have firm spines and tight pages, with only mild toning to the pages (see images), and little or no spotting. Free U. S. Media S&H. Parcel post and priority mail available upon request at an additional cost. Combined S&H available. International S&H higher. Please E-mail us with any questions. Thanks for looking!
