This edition is a volume of the original 25-volume set; a comprehensive narrative of the rise and development of nations as recorded by over two thousand of the great writers of all ages. Title page designed and engraved by Tiffany & Co., with original tissue guard. Condition: A good copy, tight and crisp, with signs of prior use or wear. Gilded top pages. All in all, very good condition for a book that's almost 120 years old. Binding - good. Bound in quarter leather. Tissue guard over title page. Book is square and tight. Wear to bottom board, especially at front (see photo). Rubbing along spine edges. A few pages show loss of paper (see photo). Dust jacket - None, as issued. If the condition description doesn't mention a remainder mark or ex-library markings, they do not exist. I am not a professional book seller. I have been collecting books for almost 40 years.
