Description: Up for sale is a Very Rare, SIGNED/INSCRIBED, First American Edition/First Printing of The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. A Modern Day Masterpiece and Winner of The Pulitzer Prize for Fiction!! SIGNED/INSCRIBED First Editions of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!! ALL First Edition Points Present!! Hardcover with its original, First State dust jacket, NOT price-clipped! Original price of $30.00. Published by Little, Brown and Company: New York, 2013. Boldly SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the celebrated author! SIGNED/INSCRIBED on the title page by the great Donna Tartt! Please note there is an additional signature present on this page! Initially, we believed the other signature might be of some importance. Unfortunately, we have been unable to ascertain, with an acceptable degree of certainty, the identity of the other individual who also put their signature on this page. For this reason, we MUST proceed with an abundance of caution and assume the other signature is simply the name of a previous owner. The additional signature adds no monetary value or has any cultural significance. If anything, the additional signature should be viewed as an unfortunate flaw! Please note that it was brought to our attention by two other individuals that the signature might belong to the actor Finn Wolfhard. They made a compelling case. For those unfamiliar with him, he is probably best known for the show Stranger Things. He was also in the horror film It, its' sequel and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Most relevant, however, is that he was a co-star in the film adaptation of this book, The Goldfinch. We are not familiar with his signature and have never owned or sold anything signed by him. We did examine verifiable signatures of his that are present online, however, and we can see why some may think his signature is also present in this book. There are obvious similarities, but we are simply not famaliar enough with and/or qualified to make that statement. His signature appears to vary quite a bit and there are numerous differences in this signature compared to others we were able to examine. For all of these reasons, it is our opinion that this signature does NOT belong Finn Wolfhard. Again, we do NOT believe that this book is also signed by Finn Wolfhard! We are selling this book signed by and ONLY signed by Donna Tartt. It is our contention that the other signature is simply the name of a previous owner and should be viewed as such. Once again, we want to repeat that there is another signature present on the same page as the Donna Tartt signature and we believe this signature is simply the name of a previous owner. A TRUE First American Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present! Please remember this is the First AMERICAN Edition. NOT the U.K. Edition. Please note the wear to the pages, very noticeable on certain pages! The creases/warping is considerable on some of the pages and the marks are quite large. The most unfortunate wear has been closely photographed for your consideration. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original, First State dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing and marks. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and the dust jacket is considerable and very clearly visible! All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying.
