Description: You are bidding on a 1969 33 1/3 rpm LP record album and cover from Ford Motor Company. This is an interesting and rare piece of automobile marketing history. This is the first album from Ford's promo musical group "The Going Thing". The group consisted of John and Tom Bahler, Mitch Gordon, Janis Hansen, Susan Teague, Steve Flanagan, Wes Oldaker and Jaquie Wiseman. Ford was capitalizing on "the sound" of the day and musically promoting their products. One side of the album is songs from the group. The other is a confidential message from John J. Morissey, Advertising Manager of Ford. The message introduces the musical group and outlines the upcoming marketing plan. It talks about Ford's High Performance Cars, it's racing program and the complete line of Ford products, including station wagons, vans and trucks, and how they were positioned against the products of competitors. It tells dealers of upcoming ads in print, television and radio. Very interesting. If you show a 1969 Ford at car shows, this would top off your display
