Signed by the author on the limitation page. Numbered 486 out of 1200 copies. Handsome copy of this landmark of the literature of golf course architecture. This title appears to have a somewhat complicated publication history. It appears to have first been issued in a limited softcover run of 15 "pre-publication" copies before appearing the edition of 1200 signed copies offered here. A second edition, called a "second printing" by the publisher was put out in 1997 under the Sleeping Bear Press Imprint. Fifty copies of that print run were bound up in full green leather and issued as a "deluxe" edition. Thus, the present copy is the first hardcover edition and appears to be the only signed example currently offered in online commerce. Near fine in very good jacket.
