Description: THE ARMY AT WAR: TUNISIA Heavily Illustrated 1944 British War Office Magazine THE ARMY AT WAR: TUNISIA is a rare publication by the British Ministry of Information prepared for the War Office in London in 1944. It covers the war in Africa from the view of the British, although there are many pictures of American troops and equipment deployed there. It contains many photographs not found in other World War II publications, including captured Nazi generals of Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Korps. Published after the German Africa Corps and Italians were defeated in North Africa, this 9-½ x 13-¾ inch, 62 page photo magazine covers the whole battle. It has many great very detailed maps of the theater of war. The photo content is superb - Royal Navy ships, British paratroopers disembarking in Algiers, French troops heading for Oran, American bombers attacking Axis airfields, British mine detectors and forward observers, wounded British soldiers, American Sherman tanks and destroyed Nazi Mark III tanks at Kasserine, Italian POWs, RAF bombers over Tunisia, soldiers from New Zealand, Nazi POWs, etc. On the back cover is a large picture of General Eisenhower. Our pictures show the actual 80 year old used British World War II photo magazine offered for sale, published by His Majesty's Stationary Office in London in 1944. It is complete, quite brittle and needs to be handled carefully. It has a taped spine and no odor. Have a look at other collectible books about WW2 in our eBay store!
