Description: Lot of 5 Terry Pratchett Discworld titles, all Book Club Editions (Hardcover with Dust Jackets)Two of these are likely 1st American Hardcover editions of the titles (Mort and Equal Rites) Attributions: I use the Internet Speculative Fiction Database to narrow the identifications. Since this is a crowdsource site, there is some inevitable ambiguity to the identifications. I will give all the necessary points so that you can verify the attributions. Mort (this is almost certainly a 1st American hardcover edition): (1987 copyright, 1988 printing of this 1st American edition) New American Library/Signet. Unpriced flap with Book Club Edition printed on bottom. Jacket art by Jill Bauman, code 14838 on bottom of rear panel. blue boards with dark blue printing. No gutter code.Condition: Clean boards with small bumps to bottom edge. Pages clean and unmarked, small impressed dent on last few pages, text unimpaired. Hinge starting between pages 88-9 but no loose pages. Dust jacket has small amount of wear at edges, corners, and folds, a few small closed tears at edges. DJ in removable clear protector. Very Good overall Equal Rites (this is likely a 1st American edition, ISFDB is a little ambiguous about the criteria) (1987 copyright) New American Library/Signet. Unclipped and unpriced front flap, no book club statement. Thomas Kidd cover art, code 13931 at bottom of rear panel. Cream/tan boards with black lettering on spine. No gutter code.Condition: Clear boards, tight binding, no loose pages. No writing or other marks throughout. Dust jacket shows little wear, very small bumps and scuffs at corners and bottom of spine, small chips at top of spine. Very Good plus overall Small Gods (HarperCollins 1992 copyright but jacket design indicates 1994 printing) Unpriced unclipped front flap, no gutter code. Jacket design and photo dated 1994. code 02889 on bottom of rear panel. Blue boards with blue cloth spine and gold lettering.Condition: Little wear to boards, tight binding, no writing or creased pages. Faint stain to front free endpaper, dust soiling to edges. Dust jacket has little wear to edges and corners, a closed tear at bottom of rear panel, diagonal chip to top of spine, some wear to bottom. Very good minus overall Carpe Jugulum (HarperCollins 1998 copyright, jacket design dated 1997) Unpriced/unclipped DJ, code 03068 on rear panel. Black boards with gold lettering on spine. No gutter code.Condition: Boards have small wear to front cover, tight binding, clean and unmarked throughout. DJ has small wear to edges and corners, a diagonal crease near edge of front flap, a few small scuffs to front panel and to the top and bottom of spine. Very Good overall 10/29 Added book: Truth (HarperCollins 2000 copyright, undated DJ) Unpriced/unclipped DJ, code 05824 on rear panel, no gutter code. Black boards with gold spine lettering.Condition: Very good with sound binding, no writing or other marking, no creases or folds. Water stain with tide mark on front edge of rear pastedown. DJ has minor wear to edges and corners, some scuffs to spine, water stain with tide mark along 3 edges to rear panel, not very evident on outside but heavier on the inside of the DJ-see pictures.10/29: I have replaced the clear protector on Mort and put removable clear Brodart protectors on all 5 books.These are among the very best of the Discworld titles. *I research the books that I list for sale prior to listing, and that involves consulting a number of sources, a good number of which are available to you for free.I do my best to give the information you might need to independently verify my attributions.
