The D/A converter uses a 4DAC, 18-bit conversion system. The 4-DAC, 18-bit conversion system uses two D/A converters for each channel (L/R) that independently process the + and - components of the input signal, for a total of four D/A converters. In this circuit, the newly developed 4DAC processor LSI first discriminates + and - signals from the input digital signals, and then these signals are switched between the two D/A converters for high-speed processing. This realizes D/A conversion without zero-cross distortion in principle. In addition, the use of a 4DAC processor LSI and other components enables 18-bit operation of the D/A converter at an average music level of -12dB or lower. This, together with the adoption of a digital filter with a quadruple oversampling 18-bit system, enables more faithful reproduction of analog signal waveforms. Three sampling frequencies (32kHz, 44.1kHz, and 48kHz) are supported by an automatic switching system, making it compatible with CD players, DAT, and BS tuners.
