It has bee announced that a rosewood snare will be released in 2024 as a limited edition model to celebrate Hoshino Musical Instruments' (TAMA) 50th anniversary , but it will only be available in two sizes, 14 x 6.5 inches and 14 x 5.5 inches, and there will be no shallow-bodied model . Personally, I think that shallow-bodied rosewood models have the best sound and are the easiest to use , so I was surprised that they didn't make a shallow-bodied model for the 50th anniversary . TAMA manufactured snares entirely out of rosewood from the 1980s until 2007.The AR3325 is made from 9 plies of Indian rosewood , approximately 6mm thick.Rosewood is very difficult to shape and is not readily available for mass production, making it expensive.For this reason, very few other manufacturers produced snares made from 100% rosewood .TAMA has been manufacturing rosewood snares for a long time, and as they have accumulated know-how, the specifications of the parts, especially for the shallow-body types, have frequently changed and the snare drums have literally been upgraded.Specifically, this is especially noticeable in the lugs. The lugs, as represented by the "RW Series (early AR Series)" from 1980 to 1995, are single lugs and have a small contact area with the shell, which has the advantage of not muting the sound. However, the lugs are very delicate and prone to breaking or becoming damaged during tuning.If it breaks there are no replacement parts available.It is a very very delicate part. The "AR33325", manufactured between 1995 and 1998, overcame and improved upon these weaknesses.The previous delicate rug has been changed to a sturdy one, ensuring durability and making it less likely to break. The hoops are original Brass Mighty Hoops , which add a touch of glamour to the sound.We have succeeded in adding a dark and hard sound quality, yet also an open and brilliant sound quality.When tuned to a high setting, the sound is outstandingly clear and it is easy to produce detailed sounds, so I think it will be the perfect companion not only for large venues, but also for situations and places where you need to control the volume or for styles where you want to clearly hear detailed techniques. However, the greatest feature of this snare is its low-pitched use.The low pitch produces a deeper, heavier, and bolder sound, making it suitable for a wide variety of genres.This snare is on par with the loud, high-quality sounding snares from SONOR, dw, SAKAE, etc.It produces a really thick and big sound. In summary, it is a "snare that combines a piccolo with a powerful sound", and I like this snare so much that I own another one, so this time I have decided to sell the one I use most as my main one in order to organize my equipment.It was my main device so it shows signs of wear, but there are no problems so please don't worry.
