Description: You are bidding on one Stanley 45 wood plane as pictured. There are some condition issues, so please keep reading down to the condition paragraphs, and please see all 21 pictures! Included are:--- the main frame, which is marked with the later style of the STANLEY sweetheart logo and "MADE IN USA" on the skate, and with "No 45" on the right side. Shown on it are the hardware to adjust and clamp the cutters, the little 3-winged spur, and the adjustable depth gauge with its special nut.--- the sliding or center section, which is marked "STANLEY" on the arch. It also has its little 3-winged spur.--- the adjustable fence section, which is marked "TRADE 45 MARK". The often-missing locking screw for the adjustment is present (located towards the front end of the fence).--- a pair of short rods. I didn't get long rods with this plane.--- the beading stop and the small depth gauge or stop.--- 6 dado or plow cutters, with widths of 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", and 7/8".--- 1 filletster cutter with a width of 1-1/4".--- 7 bead or beading cutters, with widths of 1/8" through 1/2" by 16ths.--- 2 match or tongue cutters, with widths of 3/16" and 1/4". Both have their depth stops. These are the only cutters that are numbered with the Stanley part number, and they are numbers 6 and 5.--- 1 sash cutter with its depth stop. --- 2 cutter box bottoms and one cutter box lid. One bottom has most of its label, the other has almost no label remaining at all, and the lid still has the clips at each end.Condition of the plane is good but wanting a cleaning. The skates have some patina (color) and rust and some nickeling loss, but very little pitting. That is also true for the rest of the three sections, some patina and rust and nickeling loss, but again very little pitting. The rear handle has a tight crack through the lower rivet on the left side, the knob has some flecks of paint to clean off, and the wood strip on the fence is very good to excellent, appearing barely used. I didn't try to remove either of the little 3-winged spurs, and the screwdriver slot on the screw on the sliding section is a bit worn. The beading stop has some bits of rust, and the little depth gauge is probably the cleanest part on the plane. The special nut for the depth gauge on the main frame turns quite stiffly in places, easily in others. Condition of the cutters is fair to good, with quite a bit of scattered patina (color) and some scattered rust and pitting. The rust seems to frequently be at the sharp edge, while the pitting seems to often be above the middle of each cutter. All of the cutters have the Stanley notch at the upper end. The 3/8" and 1/2" plow cutters have some grinding both at the sharp edge and towards the middle (???). The widths are nominal widths. Condition of what is present for the boxes is good but wanting a cleaning. Except as noted, there are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings, and everything turns or operates properly. SHIPPING: 8 pounds when boxed, shipped US Postal Service Ground Advantage, insurance is included. No International shipping. l sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography! The queue is overflowing with tools right now, as they seem to be finding me faster than I can list them. So please keep watching my postings as I have LOTS more to list!Searching my listings: I have lots to see! Some of you will undoubtedly enjoy browsing through everything, but if you want to hone in on something specific, I suggest you click on the "Visit Store" link in Seller Information section in the upper right of this listing. That will lead you to my extensive system of categories. How to subscribe to my eBay newsletter? Every Friday eBay sends out my newsletter featuring 10 of my most interesting new listings. To subscribe, click the VISIT STORE to go to my eBay store and then click on the heart symbol that is labeled SAVE SELLER. That will automatically get you on the mailing list for the newsletters. They are free, and you can unsubscribe at any time. ETHICS IN DESCRIPTIONS: I also buy for my collecting on eBay, and I have been burned too many times by misleading (duh did I forget to mention .......) descriptions, and auctions with pictures only of the left side because the right side was trashed. Life is much simpler for me if I disclose what I know or see about an item before you bid, and especially before you receive it in the mail. I come from the handshake school of doing business, and hopefully you are like me and understand what that means. What goes around, comes around.RETURN POLICY: I believe that if you give honest descriptions, and include enough pictures, you shouldn't need a return policy. However, that doesn't mean that I won't make an occasional mistake. Please bid with the assurance that if I have made an error in my listing, I WILL take care of you. And if you have made an error, and bought the wrong size, for example, I will still take care of you (but I’ll let you pay the return shipping!).USPS POSTAGE RATE INCREASES: I use the Post Office for everything, and yes, the shipping charges just keep going up and up. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada. If you are in Canada, ask for what the shipping would cost, but be prepared for it to be $$$$$. AUCTIONS: I won’t end an auction listing early to sell it to you directly. As a bidder, I really dislike going back at the end of an auction to bid, only to discover that the seller had ended the auction early. So I won’t do that for you, or to you.PACKAGING: Please check my feedback -- I package well. I figure if you take the time to purchase from me, then I can take the time to package it well, and not just throw it into a cereal box with a scrap of newspaper.I hope someday I will meet some of you as we trudge the happy road of tool collecting!
