Just underneath the sticker of superman on the brush is the date 1940 copyright Superman. Doing some research on this item says it was made by Monarch, even though there is no mention of the company on box or brush. Also very odd is that it says this is a brush and comb set, yet it only comes with a brush, it was manufactured this way with only the brush as other examples we have seen show only a brush. The brush has never been used, the graphics on it look great, there is a flaw on the side left side of the brush, looks like it was manufactured that way with a slight knick in the wood, also on very bottom of brush a little of the black pad glued to the wood has come loose on bottom edge corner, very slight. Brush measures around 5" x 2 1/2" and includes the rare box, top flap is missing and slight creasing and tears on top edge, slight writing in pencil on front bottom and slight wear to box.
