This example weighs about 21.9 grams/14.1 pennyweight. Measures about 5 ¼” long. Top of the stem has an image of a Native American Indian. . . the Bowl has an image of an Early Building, with Lions on either side at the top, with a Clock in the center. Maker’s Mark on the back has: (image of LION, ANCHOR, and 𝕲) STERLING / BIGELOW KENNARD & CO. ***Online research indicated: “The Old State House, built in 1713, is the oldest surviving public building in Boston, and one of the oldest public buildings in the United States. It has been restored several times since it was saved by demolition in 1881. In addition to being the State House, the building also served as City Hall in the mid 1800s. It’s famous for overlooking the Boston Massacre and being the site of the first reading of the Declaration of Independence in Boston. In 1903 a branch of the subway was installed. It is one of the landmarks on Boston's Freedom Trail. It now serves as a history museum that was operated by the Bostonian Society through 2019.
