Description: Stephen T. Botek, M.D., Where to Go and What to Do When Your American Medical School Says "NO". Self-published by the author in Lansford, PA. Undated. 295 pages plus appendices. The title of this book is misleading. Rather than a handbook for aspiring medical students, it is actually the second volume of Dr. Botek's highly entertaining autobiography. (A Song on My Lips, which we're also selling on eBay, is volume 1.) This work covers Dr. Botek's adventures during 1955-1966, among other things as an American medical student in Italy. This copy is INSCRIBED by the author to our father: "A longtime loyal friend - one who avoided foreign med schools and was shrewd enough to survive a good American one." The inscription is dated June 8, 2017. Also included is a post-it note from Dr. Botek to our father ("The more I hear your survival stories the better I like them.") Condition is very nice. The volume is intact and there are no extraneous marks aside from Dr. Botek's inscriptions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our father was a bibliophile who collected rare books, letters, and ephemera for more than 60 years. For now and into the foreseeable future, we will be listing rare paper items from his estate. Take a look at all our items for sale. We combine shipping upon request.
