Piece by piece, stitch by stitch......tiny snippets come together to bind the pieces into one beautiful work of Hand, Heart and Love. These words describe not only this mosaic window, but also the scrap quilts that served as her inspiration. This window will dance and come alive with color wherever you choose to let her light shine through. Please meet "Pieces of my Heart". This 6 panel window was designed with the colorful snippets of love that make up a scrap quilt as my inspiration. The rainbow of colors and textures a sense of fun and continuity. The wooden casing is a delightful chippy white with soft aged blues. It measures approximately 28 x 29 inches. This mosaic features 480 hand cut stained glass squares. Take one salvaged old wooden window, add some stained glass and let the light shine through. We believe in retaining as much of the history in each of our 'found' raw materials as we can. For the windows, that means leaving the original glass. We hand cut our stained glass, following a pattern, just the same as for a soldered panel. The glass is glued to the original glass and then grouted. It also means, leaving the original finish when possible. We believe there is always beauty to be found in the 'signs of love' in the passage of time and a story to be told (or imagined). We do, however, realize that not all paint and finish is desirable for your home. We seal all of our windows with Polycrylic so they are safe and easy to clean, yet still showcasing there lovely patina when possible. After a good cleaning and polishing, the window is ready to be displayed in your home or garden. The windows can be displayed leaning in an existing window ledge or hung in front of a window.
