Description: An original vendor pass for Gordon Wyte of the National Meter Com. NYC. National Meter was founded in New York in 1870 by John C. Kelley (1839 - 1914). In 1879, Lewis H. Nash (1852-1923), an engineer for National, developed the Crown water meter, which revolutionized the water meter industry and led to widespread adoption of water meters. The pass is wet signed by E. Norton White, the Chief of the Admissions Department and he also stylus signed the image of Gordon Wyte. The four sides of the pass are each 5" by 2.5" and the day passes are each 4.5" by 2.5". THe frame is 16" by 14.5" and is vintage and ;possible contemporary with the fair. Day passes sell indivudually on ebay for $10-25 each.
