Description: 12” silver serving tray from the ss United States and date marked 1952 from her maiden voyage. What makes this pretty special is that it also has its matching fitted silver cover dated 1954. Both pieces were made by International Silver Co. Sometimes you see trays, and sometimes see covers but not fitted and matched. Tray measures about 12.5” x 8.75” and cover measures about 11” x 7.25” x3”. Cover is a bit out of round and has a dent or two where dropped but does not detract from display. These come to us direct from the auction in 1984. The previous owner had them for 40 years.
