Description: Spode Herring The Hunt Red Saucer (s) for Footed Cups CHOICE VintageThis listing is for saucers that fit the 2-7/8” footed cups from Spode’s The Hunt Red, with hunting images painted by J.F. Herring (1795-1865). The pattern started production around 1930. Saucers (and their corresponding cups) for this pattern were produced in several sizes, so please check what you may already have on hand before purchasing. Most have 2/9344 hand painted on the base. These saucers are old and may have random small marks and/or bits of glaze out of place. Expect to find small bits of glaze missing from the red/magenta band around the rim. Each has at least two small bare areas on the rim from the production process and are not the result of damage. No chips or cracks, but may have crazing, as mentioned below. Both horses are brown.#5 Well Cleared, Condition 2: Crazing, with stains in the lines.
