Description: 'Splendors of Paris' 1861 Framed tinted Lithograph - Versailles Palace -by Nicolas Marie Joseph Chapuy (1790-1858) A wonderful hand tinted print, from the 1861 work 'Splendors of Paris. This was framed and "stylized" by the famous Paul Victorius, in his Charlottesville Gallery and Frame Shop. Victorius had extensively traveled Europe, and had one of America's best collections of European art, prints and books. This item came from the home of a former U.S. Senator, and I assume it was framed by Victorious in the late 1950's or 1960's. Overall size is 21x24. The print is behind glass, while the wide linen border is exposed. Very nice glit wood frame.
