Description: Double-breasted, in slightly napped olive drab wool gabardine with red piping. The red-piped shoulder boards are in silk brocade with gold bullion stars. The gold buttons with the State Emblem of the USSR show a Mosshtamp Factory logo on the back with dates of manufacture ranging from the mid-1970s-1982. Fine quality silk liner. One of the inside pockets has a cloth tag of a workshop with a stamped abbreviation that is not fully legible but appears to be T ПУРВО - which would stand for Directorate for the Rear, Volga - Urals Military District. On the left breast, there is a set of sewn-in medal ribbon bars that includes ribbons for the Order for Service to Homeland in the Soviet Armed Forces, 3rd cl., several Jubilee medals, and three Length of Service medals. The ribbons indicate that the general started service in the military at some point from the late 1940s - mid-1950s and was still on active duty in the mid-1970s. The right breast has a single hole for a guards badge. Medium / Large size: the chest measures approximately 42", the sleeves (from cuff to shoulder seam) are 23" long; the length from top of collar to bottom hem is 28". Very good condition. There is no moth damage or tears visible. The shoulder boards have been shortened to fit the tunic and their inner edge is significantly tattered; nevertheless, they remain sound and the damage is practically invisible when the tunic is displayed in a regular way with the lapel down.
