Description: Southern stoneware jug from the !9th century. Is a half gallon size with alkaline glaze on a mature clay body with a lot of iron present. Has a kiln drip with blue rutile present and may have been fired in a kiln used for salt firing. Has shallow flake chip on the spout ( see pictures). May be Alabama or Texas or possible Mississippi attributions you guys in the gulf states will know. Please ask questions , Buyer pays shipping, Double boxed and Double bubble wrap.
