Unique to this map is the identification of various railroad lines, which includes the Old Colony Railroad, which existed until 1893. This map abbreviates the railroad lines along the routes: e.g; N.Y. N.H. & H. R.R. (New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad) e.g.; Bos. & Alb. (Boston and Albany Railroad)e.g.; N.Y. & N.E. R.R. (New York & New England Railroad) This was taken from an 1891 atlas and the entire map page measures about 13-1/2" x 10" and the entire map image measures about 12-5/8" x 9-1/4". ** On the reverse side of this map page is a similar map of New York State.
