Description: Soundstream Reference 705 Old-school sound quality amplifier made in USA. If you’re reading this, you know what this amplifier is, how great it sounds, how conservatively it is rated, and how robustly it is built. This is an excellent example of one of the best full-system amplifiers Soundstream made back when it was still building amps in California. I bought this amplifier and immediately sent it to Eric’s Amplifiers in Douglasville, Georgia for full service. Eric is an old-school Soundstream specialist, and he replaced all of the switches with OEM parts, checked all of the capacitors and rectifiers, and brought the entire amp up to OEM spec. It is ready for another 30 years of service. Power specs from Soundstream are 100 x 4 into 2 ohms and 300 x 1 into 2 ohms. The mono subwoofer channel is stable down to 1/2 ohm and this amp is a real beast. They simply don’t make Class A/B amps like this anymore. The manual is readily available online if you search for Soundstream Reference 705 manual. I’ve printed a copy and will include it. I ultimately ended up going with Class A Soundstream amplifiers, so this unit has not seen power since I got it back from Eric. It is as close to a new Reference 705 as you will find. Amp will be double boxed and carefully packed. Shipping by FedEx ground. Listing updated with photos of the board at the request of a potential buyer.
