Sign mounting bolt should be put into the bracket with the hex nut head facing towards the post and the bolt end facing out. To mount your sign, fasten the top bracket and then center align the bottom bracket. Use your sign as a placeholder to determine the distance between your pre-drilled holes. Tighten up the bolts on the outer ends to secure the bracket in the desired position.
