Description: In very good condition. This is a Top-Quality CD of 628 SL-SF (FRISCO) and Alabama, Tennessee & Northern Railroad train order images, covering the entire main line from St. Louis, Missouri to Birmingham, Alabama. This CD also includes a few branch lines in Missouri and Arkansas, and also the secondary lines south of Amory, Mississippi, to Pensacola, Florida and Mobile, Alabama. The line to Mobile was formerly known as the Alabama, Tennessee & Northern (AT&N), and there are a few items in this CD that are on actual AT&N forms. The AT&N was officially absorbed into the Frisco on January 1, 1971, but Frisco train order forms were used long before the merger became official, so it is possible to find AT&N orders on Frisco forms, if dated before this date on the former AT&N line. Included is 1 station list showing each location and the number of images from that location. Also included is a small timetable compendium of 3 employee and 2 public timetables, covering this trackage and much more. These timetables are: SLSF Southeast District ETT #44A 10-27-1963 23 pages; SLSF Southern Division ETT #47 5-28-1967 24 pages; SLSF Eastern Division ETT #47 5-28-1967 36 pages; SLSF system public timetable dated 10-5-1965 19 pages; and SLSF system public timetable dated 8-1-1967 2 pages. This latter timetable is one of the last public timetables issued on the Frisco Railway. Total amount of timetable image pages is 104. Total amount of train order images is 628, making a grand total of 732 timetable and train order images. These timetables cover all of this territory and more, so you can see where each location was, with respect to the others. There is also a map included, showing this trackage in pretty good detail. These were very profitable lines for the Frisco, right up until the BN takeover in 1980. Note that some of these orders show several trains running at the same time, pretty good for branch-line traffic. One note here: The employee timetable for the Eastern Division of the Frisco is also included here, because the River Division from St. Louis south, stopped at Turrell, Arkansas, where the Eastern Division took over for the trackage from Turrell to Memphis, a distance of 34.2 miles. Then, south of Memphis, the Southern Division took over for the line from Memphis to Birmingham, and included the 2 long branch lines to Mobile and Pensacola. While not a great image, there is a coverage map included in this CD to show where the lines ran with respect to each other. There are 64 different Frisco and AT&N locations represented here, with at least one train order image from each one. Ages of the orders range from 1913 to 1980. Many of these lines were still train-order territory even after Burlington Northern took over in 1980, but in the mid-1980's train orders gave way to track warrants. There will be none of these shown here. The 12 pictures shown are just a sampling of the quantity and variety of locations, engine numbers (mostly Diesels), operators' names, and other operations unique to this very historic piece of Railroad. The orders in this CD shows many track conditions, operating procedures, and many examples consistent with train-order operation. This is some of the best Railroad reading anywhere.
