I prefer BCW re-sealable bags and boards and will use these whenever possible, but is not guaranteed unless noted. I collect myself and take a great deal of pride in the way I store, pack and ship my comics. Comics will be sandwhiched in between four layers of cardboard to discourage any bending and securely taped. If I can fit your comic(s) into a padded envelope, it will get an additional layer of bubble wrap protection. This may be the only option for higher value comics. I will happily combine shipping but this may limit the options you may use due to weight and value. I will further explain shipping options below. I will offer multiple shipping options and give you the options to choose what works best for you. MEDIA MAIL: Positives: This is by far the most cost effective shipping option available. I think it’s a great option for shipping lower cost comics. Why pay $4.00 to ship a $3.00 book? Tracking is still available with this low cost alternative. Negatives: First, USPS policies prohibit media contain advertisements to be shipped via media mail. Some comics fall into this category. USPS has the option to open and search the contents of the packages of media mail. If this happens, the RECEPIENT is responsible for paying the additional shipping charges and the item must be picked up at the post office. This is a very rare occurrence. In addition, I will securely pack and tape your item to further discourage this from happening. In addition, media mail has a much slower delivery time, up to 8 days, and the items are not insured if they are damaged during shipping. FIRST CLASS PACKAGE: Positives: This is a slightly cheaper alternative to Priority Mail, but not much with the recent increase in mailing rates. The delivery time averages 2-3 days, which is only about a day more than priority mail. Negatives: The price is much higher than Media Mail. It recently increased in price. The max weight for your comic(s) is one pound. Your items are not insured, which can be an issue for higher value comics. PRIORITY MAIL: Positives: Priority Mail usually arrives in 2 days, but is guaranteed within 3 days. It is insured up to $50.00. I prefer the flat rate padded envelope because it is water resistant, provides and extra layer of protection, and is more affordable for shipping comics over a long distance. It is only a few cents higher then basic priority mail for items shipped closer to my location. If you purchase a larger quantity of comics, I they may not fit into the envelope and you will have to choose basic priority mail. Negatives: The only negative is the price, which is about $5.00-$6.00 more than Media Mail depending on weight. *All delivery issues must be handled with USPS.
