Platt and bassist Nicole Lombardi. Skin, their 2003 debut, recalls both Bikini Kill and Sleater-Kinney, but of the three they are certainly the most aggressive and the most indebted to hardcore and its affinity with heavy metal. Skin packs a heavy musical punch, but it is sometimes sidelined by Platt's vague confessional lyrics that fail to convey anything other than prosaic frustration.
