Description: This 1982 silkscreen, "Segundo Aniversario del Centro Cultural Juan Cartagena Martinez (in Orocovis) 6ta Feria de Artesanias," by Sixto Cotto Morales, is stunning; it's colors are sharp and majestic. It's in good condition --- no tears, perforations or creases. The paper is slightly bent on the bottom left side (less than 1/4 inch into) the white border. (See photo) It has age spots on all four sides of the white border, light age spots around the white border framing "6ta Feria de Artesanias..." as well as spots on the back of the paper. (See photos). None of spots damage the artwork. The piece is signed on the plate as well as in pencil. Sixto Cotto, as he was popularly known, was born in Santurce in 1955, and studied under Antonio Martorell and Jose Alicea. He was a founding member of the Puerto Rico Artists Collective: Art in the Streets, and for ten years designed and illustrated prints for public and private organizations in Puerto Rico. His works were widely exhibited in Puerto Rico and at several universities in the United States. He died in 2015 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. NOTE: PLEASE ask any questions before buying as we do not accept RETURNS or REFUNDS. (P94/Bx3) The piece will be carefully packed and shipped in a sturdy mailing tube.
