It has no hall marks but is undoubtebly silver and good gilding on the inside. I believe the makers mark is James Wilks of London who worked 1742-1755; I believe the box design & decoration fits those dates; there is a good image of the maker mark so please satisfy yourself to the maker. It is very solidly made, 83x38x19mm and weighs 80gms.
