Description: Artsakh Nagorno Karabakh Armenia PURE SILVER 2004 Leopard Wildlife Protection Coin RARE You get a VERY RARE silver coin of Artsakh Nagorno Karabagh, an independent Republic east of Armenia in the southern Caucasus. 1 troy ounce (about 31.1 grams) 999 pure silver, 1000 Artsakhian dram nominal denomination, struck as NCLT under contract for the Artsakh government and dated 2004. Highly limited issue, possibly fewer than even 50 examples were made. This coin depicts the endangered Caucasian Leopard native to the highland forests of Artsakh; on the reverse is the Artsakh coat of arms. As a result of the vicious war of aggression against the peaceful Armenians of Artsakh, using toxic chemical weapons, the leopard's habitat is even more endangered. The coin comes in two varieties, silver and gold-plated (gilt) silver, this is the pure silver example. The gilt example is listed separately. This virtually flawless Uncirculated/Proof condition coin has cameo devices and highly reflective fields. It is housed in a protective plastic capsule. A MASTERPIECE OF THE MINT ENGRAVER'S ART. Tiny scratches on the plastic capsule do not appear on the coin. Buy with confidence from a 25-year ANA member. Shipping within USA only by USPS first class with tracking.
