Description: JEAN-CLAUDE PICOT by Andre Cognet Excellent showcase for the paintings and other works by the post-impressionist French artist (1933-2020), whose work is often compared to Matisse, Derain, and Cezanne. The book is densely illustrated with full-page reproductions of Picot's art, most in color. The artist drew an original beach scene sketch on the first page of this book, beneath which he signed and inscribed the book to friends. This 1985 hardcover first (and only) edition remains in very good condition. The jacket is glossy and clean, with fairly minor general handling, including some wrinkles and nicks at the edges. The book itself has a little shelfwear, otherwise in excellent shape. An uncommon book, and this is the only signed or decorated copy currently for sale online. Measures 8.5" X 12", 102 pages; the brief text is in French. Ships promptly & securely.
