Description: “NEST” SIGNED ORIGINAL LIMITED EDITION COLOR INTAGLIO ETCHING BY AMERICAN ARTIST AND PRINTMAKER CHRISTINE TARPEY (20TH CENTURY) This limited edition color embossed aquatint intaglio etching, featuring a stunning heron, was hand printed by the Oregon artist Christine Tarpey. The etching is signed in pencil by the artist in the margin below the image right: Christine Tarpey. The artist titled the etching in pencil in the margin below the image left: Nest, and numbered the edition in the margin below the image cebter: 5/50. The etching is printed on heavy stock wove paper, the image ( plate size ) measures 23 5/8 x 16 1/8 inches, the sheet with full margins measures 25 1/4 x 17 5/8 inches. The etching comes unframed. CONDITION: The etching is in excellent condition, a fine crisp embossed impression, with no evidence of any damage to the image. Christine Tarpey has been working as a printmaker in Portland, Oregon. She attended college in Chicago, Il, where she made use of the Art Institute with its vast collections. In 1976 she moved to Portland. In 1991 she began experimenting with monoprint medium by incorporating her own method of chine colle etching, which is a type of printmaking she developed as her own signature style. In 1988 she was commissioned to create an edition of prints for the Yellowstone Print Club in Montana. ___________________________________ ATTENTION!
