Description: A gorgeous HUGE, one-of-a-kind, iridescent art glass ornament signed by master glassblower Craig Zweifel in a teardrop form with an iridescent surface that shimmers in gold tones. It is signed on the pulled point with an engraved signature and dated 2003. The top has a fancy silver cap with a hanging loop, although the cap feels a little loose. It is signed Zweifel 2003. It measures 13” in height and 5-1/2” at its widest. It's a great piece from an American master. Zweifel opened his first studio in 1969. Each piece of Zweifel art glass is hand blown by Zweifel. The iridescent colors are the result of his signature process that fuses silver to the molten glass and then crystallizes the surface. Zweifel Art Glass is featured in many fine galleries across the United States, and has been exhibited at museums including the Chicago Art Institute, the Boise Art Museum, the Corning Glass Museum, the Minnesota Museum of Art, and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian. The condition is excellent vintage. There are no chips or cracks. The hook loop is a little loose but ready to hang and even has a silver-toned wire to string it.
