Description: Beautiful mid-century, this brooch pin was produced by Sigi Pineda. It's his "Boomerang" design, adorned with a beautiful egg shaped amethyst cabochon. A fabulous modernist design, and one for which he is well known. In superb vintage condition, and collector quality. Bio: Prior to opening his own shop in 1952, Sigi worked at Los Castillo, and with Salvador Teran and Felipe Martinez. Sigi was head of the enameling shop for Margot van Voorhies Carr at Margot de Taxco. He is a master of Mexican modernist silver work.
