The Boy's King Arthur is an abridged version of Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, carefully edited by the American poet Sidney Lanier, who cleaned up of some violence and sexual references to make a book suitable for younger readers, while still sustaining all the chivalry, courage, and honor of the Knights of the Round Table legends. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1939 with illustrations by Newell Convers Wyeth, the book remains a classic for young and old and is a wonderful introduction to the Arthurian Legends.
