Description: Up for sale is: An open box but essentially mint condition Sideshow Collectibles Exclusive Edition Premium Format (polystone statue with cloth uniform) 1:4 scale Figure of Cobra Commander, leader of the Cobra forces and the most dangerous Enemy of the G.I. Joe team. The statue was displayed for several months in a glass case with no direct sunlight exposure in an adult collector's smoke-free and pet-free home after it was received direct from Sideshow in December 2011. It was soon repacked and then stored with care in an air-conditioned room until September 2024, when the pics shown in this listing were taken. This Exclusive Edition, which adds an alternate Hooded portrait (solid sculpted - no cloth) in addition to the Helmet / Chrome Faceplate edition, had a production run of only 500 pieces (the standard one had 750 pieces) and is long sold out. This one has a serial number of 261 / 500. This may be among the last licensed figures of Cobra Commander to offer the somewhat controversial Hooded look, as all of Hasbro's numerous recent offerings of the character in 1:18 and 1:12 scale have stuck to some variant of the Helmet with Chrome Faceplate look of the original A Real American Hero figure produced back in 1982. The figure (including the base) stands 21 inches (53 cm) tall. The polystone base figure comes wearing an intricately detailed tailored dark blue uniform. Both the head sculpts and gauntlet wearing hands (one left hand holding Cobra Commander's signature Laser Pistol behind his back, a right hand gripping a Cobra Scepter, and an alternate right hand gripping a Saber). There is an optional black and red cape which attach to the shoulders with magnetized Cobra fasteners. Finally, the figure stands on a sturdy Cobra logo base secured by a metal peg under the right boot. This Sideshow Exclusive Premium Format figure of Cobra Commander was pre-ordered in March 2011 and received in December of that year. As mentioned above, it was only displayed for a short time until spring 2012, when it was re-boxed and stored indoors in an air conditioned room until it was photographed for this listing. The Styrofoam casing has been re-secured with packaging tape with the side with the cape being the top / side up. The art box is also in great shape (the front with the picture of the statue is the top / side up) and will ship in the original Sideshow shipping box.
