Description: If you have been thinking about upgrading your Shopsmith Mark V 500 to the 510 this is your chance. While it is used and shows signs of wear it is still in good condition and ready to be installed, aligned, waxed, and put to use. Note that while many ads may use the term “complete”, the truth is you seldom know until you get the package and install. So, let’s review what is included here: Note: the last three (3) items on the list are included for full-price offers ONLY. The combined value is easily $30+. Note: the last three (3) items on the list are included for full-price offers ONLY. The combined value is easily $30+. Table w/saw table insert Carriage Floating tables (2) Extension table Rip fence Saw guard, lower only Connector tubes (4) Telescoping legs w/elbows (2) Miter gauge * Manual (?) * Saw blade arbor * 2 safety items (?) This is everything you need to get started. Let’s review the individual items, as supported by the pics: Table w/saw table insert Worn, but clean. Some oxidation staining on the table and some visible wear on the table saw insert but nothing that diminishes the integrity or function of the table. The racks are clean and a good waxing of the legs would go a long way. Carriage The carriage is clean and ready for use. Note that the pinion gears are in good, clean shape and ready to work Floating tables and extension table Again, used, with varying degrees of oxidation but fully functional and ready for use. You can clean them up with some #0000 steel wool and wax or use them as is. Rip fence No missing parts to surprise you here, it does have some minor dings and scratches but nothing that impedes its use. It is still fully functional and ready for use. Just align to your table, wax, and go. Saw guard, lower only Note that all knobs are present and that it is ready for use. The lower saw guard plays a key role in dust collection, especially when using the table saw, disc sander, drum sander, and such. The upper guard can be found on eBay or at Shopsmith Connector tubes Again, examples of staining and scratches of normal use but overall clean and fully functional. Just keep them clean and waxed and they will provide years of service. Telescoping legs w/elbows Nothing to say here but “clean and ready to use.” They twist and slide as smooth as one could ask for. Miter gauge which does not include the optional safety handle (available on eBay and Shopsmith) it does have the “t-track” set up critical to the main table and rip fence slots/tracks, but is missing the taper screw (#501401). This is only needed for “locking” the miter gauge in place, not for the more common every day uses. *The manual summary for installing the 510 upgrade is invaluable since a fair amount of assembly is required. It also helps out in guiding through the alignment process. *The saw blade arbor ($30+) is included for a full-price offer and is of particular use because often Shopsmith users do not realize that to use the 510 saw guards a longer saw blade arbor is needed than the original size for the Mark V 500. So, instead of being the buyer who sets aside the upcoming weekend for some table saw work, and finds out that they still need a “long” blade arbor - make the full price offer and save yourself the grief of buying one after-the-fact. You can choose from the arbor for 1 1/4” bore or the arbor for 5/8” bore - just let me know which you want. *The "safety items", are a fence straddler and a feather board, as seen in the last pic. Overall, if you are looking to upgrade your Shopsmith Mark V model 500 to the 510 and its much larger workspace and support options, this upgrade is for you. Just assemble, install, align, wax, and get to work. Let me know if you have any questions. Sold as is, no warranty, no returns. Shipping only to the United States, lower 48 states
