Description: Recent Northern Virginia estate find. This listing is for a extremely rare, 2" Oleander shape, cup and saucer set by Shelley in a pink basket and festoon swag pattern with floral sprays. This piece has a Shelley pattern number on the underside which looks to be u17991/53. The base decorative design is consistent with the basket and swag elements from pattern 13956, but also embellished with colorful floral sprays on the outside and inside bottom of the cup as well as the center of the saucer. This is a consistent design to that of Shelley Sheraton, 13289. What also makes this set unique if the pink or soft red color as well as the basket and swag design being inside the cup, where as pattern 13956 is on the outside of the cup. Overall excellent, near pristine condition with no chips or cracks, crazing or stains; no evidence of use. Some very slight roughness on the underside rest rim of the saucer, but looks to be original to manufacturing; extremely insignificant. Very, very rare, truly stunning and displays incredibly well.
