Description: Gems of Truth in Song (1927; The Fort Smith Song Book Co.; some damage to the title page)The Ganus Hymnal, No. 5 (1934?; W.P. Ganus & Sons; no title page but might have never had one)Waves of Devotion (1936?; Gospel Trumpet Co.; no title page but might have never had one)Songs We Sing, No. 3 (1951; Jacob A. Filbert) These four songbooks use shape-note notation. I'm selling many shape-note songbooks at this time. A few of them use round notes, which I have noted. All of them include their front and back covers, and appear to have all of their pages (except when noted otherwise, and I typically throw them in free of charge). Many of them have markings and tears in them, and while some are in nearly-new condition, most show signs of age. The older songbooks tend to be fragile. I noted when I saw any special problems, like part of the cover being missing. I'm selling most of these in lots of four for $2.50 per songbook plus shipping. If you buy more than one lot, I'll combine shipping. Just contact me before you pay the invoice, and I'll redo it and send a new one to you. I'm selling a large number of these songbooks at the same time in case a collector or university wants to build up their collection of shape-note songbooks with one purchase. You will notice that, while major publishers such as Stamps-Baxter and Vaughan are well represented, many of the songbooks are from obscure publishers or self published. Of course, if you wish to purchase a single lot of four songbooks, you are welcome to do so.
