Description: 1993 Four famous Chinese Towers medal Set minted by Shanghai mint.all are 36MM.This set was hand-engraved by Mr Huang Jian from Shanghai mintwith original box and COAThe Huanghe Lou.The Yueyang Lou.the Tengwang Ge and the Penglai Ge are called Four Famous Chinese Ancient Towers together.The Huanghe Lou is located in Wuhan of Hubei Province.It is said that it began to be built in A.D.223.The present tower was rebuilt in 1985.It is a five-storey tower and 50.4 meters in high.The Yueyang Lou which is situated in Yueyang of Hunan Province began to be erected in the Tang Dynasty and was renovated after 1949.It is a three-storey tower and is 19.7 meters in high.The Tengwang Ge lies in Nanchang of Jiangxi Province.It began to be constructed in A.D.653.It was burnt down in 1926 and was rebuilt after 1949.The Penglai Ge which is situated in Penglai of Shangdong Province was made in the Song Dynasty.It has two storeys ans is 15 meters in high.The main tower and the temple which was built in 1589 are called Penglai Ge together.All the four famous towers are wooden structure.They are inposing and lofty bulidings which are of national style and demonstrate the intelligent and splendid architectural art of the Chinese nation. All the obverse designs are the patterns of the watchtower of the Forbidden City and comprise words 'The Famous Chinese Ancient Towers' in seal character.The reverse patterns are the Huanghe lou.the Yueyang Lou.the Tengwang Ge and the Penglai Ge separately.
