Covered Casserole Dish.This vintage Shafford porcelain oven-table ware lidded casserole or serving dish in the popular Herbs & Spices pattern, with lovely molded leaf shaped handles.The casserole measures about 8" in diameter and has a 3 pint capacity with room for stirring.Despite the English sounding name, Shafford's products were usually made in Japan during the 1940-70's period, although this does no have the country of origin.The dish, part of their Oven-to-Tableware line, is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, but it has been used for its purpose, so there are minor marks from usage, particularly in the rims of both pieces where it is unglazed. There are also a few mineral specks and a few specks of the misplaced colored glaze on the lid.
