Description: 1934 Published by Harrison Smith and Robert Haas Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First American Edition. I'm told this precedes the U.K. edition, Dinesen’s first collection of short stories, released three years prior to ‘Out Of Africa’ being published. Introduction by Dorothy Canfield. Author's scarce first book. Missing the dust jacket. The spine lettering is a little rubbed. The cream-colored boards show darkening around the edges, though I think less prominent than the way it looks in the images provided. The binding is very good with solid hinges. The pages show only light toning. No creases or page files, No writing or markings seen. A nice clean book. I am retired and have the time to mail every day. Thank you for viewing this listing.
