Description: Set Spanish Galleon Sailing Ship Bookends Polychrome Painted Cast Bronze Antique Description and Item Information Up for sale is this pair of antique cast bronze bookends. Please excuse the glare in the photos. These bookends are decorated with polychrome-painted Spanish galleons in relief. The sides and edges are unpainted. Each measures approximately 4 7/8 inches tall, 4 3/8 inches long, and 2 3/8 inches wide. Unpacked, these heavy bookends weigh 8 pounds 6.7 ounces. The backs and bottoms are lined with brown felt. This set would be a nice addition to a Spanish revival decor. Identification The bookends are not marked. The exact age is not known, but they are believed to be circa 1920s. Condition These look good overall, with some wear to the painted and unpainted areas. There is flaking to the paint and the unpainted areas have some finish darkening.
