An integrated alignment ring printed into the bottom of the lid keeps the lid centered and allows for gardening both with and without the threaded ring that came with your mason jar."Kratky" style gardening allows you to grow plants without any power hungry aeration equipment and requires only that a sufficient air gap exists between the bottom of the Gardyn yCube and the nutrient solution.These lids are 3D printed in PLA (Made from Corn) with 100% infill (solid), are food safe, re-useable, and hand washable in lukewarm water. For best results, the "Kratky" gardening method requires that you also cover the rest of your jar with something that blocks light, such as a paper lunch sack and rubber band as shown, a dark sock, aluminum foil, paint, etc. Jars and yCubes sold separately.
