Description: Antique, souvenir, brass tea caddies- set of three Produced by Lipton's for 2nd half of the British Empire Exhibition in 1925 Registered numbers 711485 and 711480 Embossed with the official mark of the exhibition - a stylized lion, designed by F.C.Herrick. It was said to represent the qualities found in the British character - honesty, simplicity and strength The exhibition was opened by King George V on St George's Day (23 April) 1924, and it ran until April 1925. It's official aim was 'to stimulate trade, strengthen bonds that bind Mother Country to her Sister States and Daughters, to bring into closer contact the one with each other, to enable all who owe allegiance to the British flag to meet on common ground and learn to know each other' Some surface marks, scratches and dings, commensurate with age.
