Description: Here is Selmer Signet 100 Special all wood clarinet. It was made at the Selmer factory in Elkhart, Indiana. Selmer Signet wood clarinets have been used for decades in school music programs and are well respected by music teachers. It is regarded as an intermediate level clarinet but many have been used throughout high school and into college. It is fully refurbished (overhauled). It has new pads and corks. Mouthpiece is a step-up Selmer HS* hard rubber piece often used as a pro level mouthpiece. The instrument was completely disassembled, cleaned and polished. No expensive trips to the music store needed. It is ready to play. Included with your purchase is: new swab, cork grease and reed. The case is in very good used condition. It is perfect as a step-up instrument for anyone. Why rent when you can own a quality American-made instrument for much less than the cost of a new one. Thinking about a new Chinese or Indian-made instrument? They’re real pretty, but you risk parts breakage due to the metal quality. And if something breaks, you have what is called a “throw-away” horn. Most repair shop will not work on them because there are no replacement parts available. For those reasons most my refurbished instruments cost less than shops typically charge just for a repad job. And if you decide to try your luck with an untested used horn, chances are you will have to take it to a shop for repairs often costing $100-200 or more.
