After almost 35 years since its last production, these watches are still highly sought after in second hand market places. In fact a large aftermarket demand has developed to support the restoration and modification of these watches. **Seiko purists might hesitate and object to aftermarket, but a nicely restored, serviced and accurately timed 6309 justifies everything.***Why spend 5 times more for a so called original Scubapro, that after buying it you may still question its originality Up for sale is this rare cushion case Seiko 150 meter Men's 17Jewel Diving Watch-Model 6309-7040 Mfg. in September 1981.The World famous Cushion Case Seiko Scubapro 450 "TURTLE" DIVER". It is in just beautiful condition overall. These Seiko Scubapro 450 dial Divers are seldom found in excellent condition. .If you find one that's all original...it would be close to or more then and then you still can't guarantee originality. Case is in great condition with no dings, dents, or major scratches. It has less then normal wear for its age.Size is 43MM without crown.With crown 48MM..Length lug to lug 43MM. Lug width 22MM ORIGINAL Crystal is in very good condition with no scratchesNEW Dial. A Seiko Scubapro 450 black dial,with light green/white markers. Seconds,as well as hour and minute hands are silver.. Excellent condition,. WIth very good lume. World class 6309A 17Jewel original serviced automatic Japan movement, by Seiko ORIGINAL bezel and new black bezel insert with silver numerals, fine condition & rotates smoothly in both directions as it shouldNew hands,with excellent lume . ...All wording on the dial is are clear and complete. I have lightly hand polished the case with Maas jewelers polish. ORIGINAL crown is a screw in locking water- resistant type. Screws in perfectly.New gaskets have been installed Watch band is a Seiko Z22 rubber diving style, in good condition. The Watch is signed on the dial, movement, rear caseback and Seiko Z22 rubber diver watchband.This is a big and beautiful cushioned case timepiece, yet with a very comfortable wrist feel. The watch has not been tested for water resistance. splash ,rain OK. Swimming NG...I WOULD NOT IMMERSERSE ANY VALUABLE VINTAGE WATCH IN WATER. Dont forget the watch is 43 years old/ Wearing it over a 48 hour period, I found it to keep very acceptable time for a vintage automatic. Plus or minus 1-2 min per 24 hours is considered acceptable for 43 year old automatic watch This is an expensive and highly valued watch, so whatever you put into it you will get it back doubled. Its value will only grow as these model 6309-7040/9s are getting impossible to find in the USA especially restored with a Scubapro 450 dial.
