This 1942 edition comes wrapped in a mylar jacket meant to preserve the dust jacket and prevent any damage. Book is in really good shape. The binding is still holding good n tight, impressive for its age! The dust jacket is nice but does have some wear and chipping around the edges and at the spine. There is some smudging on the back under the mylar. The bottom left corner of the mylar on the back does have a small hole in it, but NOT the dust jacket. That's good to go. The mylar and DJ can easily be slipped off and the mylar replaced if desired. There is a nice red top stain to the pages. The ends of the pages have the nice deckled feature and show some darkening in color from age. The paste downs and end papers in the front and back have some smudging and discoloration in spots. The front end paper has a small pencil marking of 3.00. There was a paperclip used as a bookmark at one time that has left some small rust marks on a few pages. Please see pictures. All cloth light grey boards have some crumpling at the head and tail of the spine. There is a crease on the front board as well as discoloration around the edges and crumpling to the corners.
